Along with Marilyn Monroe over the vent in The Seven Year Itch and Cary Grant running from the crop duster in North By Northwest, Audrey Hepburn holding an over sized cigarette whilst in character as Holly Golightly wearing that Givency LBD remains one of the most iconic images of 20th century American cinema.
Hepburn said that playing Golightly was one of her most difficult roles because Audrey was shy and an introvert, whilst Holly Golightly was outgoing and an extrovert. It is one of my favourite films, simply because it is pure escapism. Of course, we all know what Golightly really did for a living, but she still seems like such a glamorous, captivating and alluring woman.
And I can't forget, she had gorgeous clothes!

Red Carpet Crush : Anne Hathaway
If there is anyone you think I should do a post on, please email me at lw.laurawatson@gmail.com !!
Anne Hathaway is one of the few actresses that I can always rely on to get it right on the red carpet. She doesn't just throw on a designer dress- she wears the perfect accessories, hair and make-up. She doesn't just let a dress wear her too; she always lets herself shine through every look. Here are some of her most memorable red carpet moments.
Anne at the Love & Other Drugs Australian premiere in Oscar de la Renta
Anne at the Oscars in Armani Privé
Anne at the Oscars in Marchesa
At The Devil Wears Prada premiere in Prada
Anne at the Golden Globes in Armani Privé
Anne at the Alice in Wonderland premiere in Vivienne Westwood
Anne at the Venice Film Festival in Atelier Versace
Anne at the SAGs in Azzaro
Anne at the Met Gala in 2010 in Valentino
Anne at the Golden Globes in Armani
Anne at the Tony Awards in Versace
Hope you like the pictures!

Fashion of the 1950s
I love 1950s fashion. It is definitely my favourite era in fashion, because it wasn't about fashion. It was about style. And how stylish it was.
After the War, women were pushed back into the home after temporarily taking up 'male duties' during the War. Being a wife and being feminine was what every women should want, and being a good housewife was the supreme goal.
Fashion was integral to upholding women's femininity. The fashions of the era highlighted this, in the form of full, billowing skirts, soft shoulders and stiletto heels.
A tiny waist and hourglass figure was considered the ideal for women, but for the most part, this ideal was not possible. Heavy-duty undergarments, like corsets, became popular for women of the time to wear.
I love looking at pictures of women's fashion of the 50s. I find it very inspiring.

Casablanca
'Casablanca' (1942) is, like many people, one of my favourite films of all time. With every new viewing, I realise something new that I love about it. (If you haven't seen it, oh my god, you must. It is essential viewing!!)
